Terms of Service

Please read all terms thoroughly!
Terms last updated 1/1/2026

General Terms

  • Shipping costs are not included in price estimates unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • Products will not be shipped until fully paid off.

  • I can refuse any commission for any reason.

  • I will not work with anyone under 18. By commissioning me, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old. If a client is found to be a minor, the commission will be canceled, and only the refundable portion (if any) will be returned after deducting costs.

  • If a client cancels after work begins, any payments made beyond the non-refundable deposit may be refunded at the artist’s discretion, minus costs of labor and materials used. Unfinished items may be altered and resold at the artist's discretion, and the client may be blacklisted from future commissions.

  • Work does not begin until a down payment is received and successfully deposited.

  • Down payments are used to secure your commission and to purchase supplies. Once supplies have been purchased (typically 10 days after payment is received and deposited) the down payment is no longer refundable.

  • I am not responsible for any injury you receive in fursuit related to limited vision, limited movement, overheating, or activities in the fursuit that are hindered or made more difficult by the fursuit (e.g. driving, sports).

  • I am not responsible for what happens to your item(s) in transit. If it is lost in transit it is up to you to contact the carrier for a refund. Shipping costs include insurance of the full value of your item(s).

Payments and Payment Plans

  • Payments for items not purchased through my online storefront must be completed via a PayPal invoice. Other payment methods may be used at my discretion when agreed to in writing.

  • Once the down payment is sent for an item with a payment plan, the rest of the balance must be paid off within 6 weeks of the item's completion, unless I agree to a different timeframe in writing. Just know your item will NOT be shipped until the balance is fully paid and deposited.

  • If you stop responding to messages/are unreachable for a period of 6 weeks at any point while you still have an unpaid balance I will assume you have abandoned your commission and will alter and resell at my discretion. If you reestablish contact after 6 weeks you are welcome to continue paying off your item in its present condition if it is still in my possession. If I have already resold it, it is gone and your paid balance will not be refunded.

  • If you are unreachable for 6 weeks and have been determined to have abandoned your commission I reserve the right to blacklist you from future sales at my discretion.

  • If for some reason you know you will be unreachable for more than 6 weeks it must be made known to me beforehand otherwise after 6 weeks it will be assumed you abandoned your commission.

  • The only exception for the 6 week rule is natural disasters or other “act of god” uncontrollable circumstances. Neither party is liable for delays caused by acts of God (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics) or unforeseen emergencies. If the delay exceeds 6 weeks, either party may cancel, and the client will receive a refund minus non-recoverable costs.

  • If you have a personal emergency it is your duty to inform me of that within 6 weeks. There will not be exceptions after 6 weeks of ghosting for personal emergencies if I am notified of them after 6 weeks have passed.

Digital Art Commissions

  • Can be refunded before the sketch is lined. Once I have begun lining the sketch it cannot be refunded.

  • I can refuse commissions at my discretion.

  • No payment plans on art commissions under $69.

  • Will not be emailed/delivered/shipped until fully paid off.

Physical items (plush, kigus, etc)

  • Same basic rules (supplies nonrefundable, will alter and resell if you back out, etc).

  • Once pattern pieces have been cut or foam bases completed refunds will not be accepted. Prior to this any balance paid can be refunded excluding the down payment if supplies have already been purchased.

  • Items will not be shipped until fully paid off.

Repairs

  • All items come with a 6 month warranty where I will fix any damage free of charge.

  • Excludes damage from rough handling/neglect (fur mats, pet damage, sun bleaching, mold, etc).

  • You must pay shipping both ways.

  • Warranty is void if anyone but me works on the item in the allotted time frame OR if the item has a VarmintFeathers tag and that tag is removed within the 6 month time frame. (This excludes work that you personally do on the item if the issues are small enough that you feel comfortable fixing it. This part only applies if the item is worked on by anyone but me (creator) or you (owner)).

Exceptions

  • Exceptions to the above terms can be made as long as I explicitly agree to them (e.g. trades for services, shipping included with price estimate)

Other

  • These terms are governed by Washington state law. Any disputes must be resolved in the Pierce County small claims court.

  • If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remain enforceable.

Conservation Impacts

Here at Varmintfeathers Plush, extinct animals are supporting living animals from beyond the grave! Each time we run a crowdfunding project, a portion of profits gets donated to endangered animals around the globe. Each unique plushie that gets funded has a specific animal it's supporting; and 10% of profits attributed to that plush are donated to it's animal.Over the years, Varmintfeathers Plush has donated a total of $10,000 to various groups working to restore critical species.

About the Team

Varmintfeathers
Owner

Heya, I'm Varmintfeathers, but you can call me Varmint! I’ve been creating in online spaces since I was 14 years old, creating all kinds of things, but as time went on, I eventually pivoted to mainly plush-making! Designing plush has seemed to be an interest of mine since I can remember, even making "stuffed animals" out of paper and cotton balls when I was really little. I also enjoy engaging with clay, acrylics, as well as traditional and digital art. I've also been slowly rediscovering my love for fursuitmaking. The suit in my profile picture is Vega- she's my main fursona! You can catch her at cons and vending markets.Outside of my business I have two cats, a leopard gecko, two Syrian hamsters, a 98' Trans Am that I love to death, and a modest plushie collection that is slowly taking over our house. I hope to eventually get away from the city and build a homestead with my wife, and to get Varmintfeathers plushies into zoos and museums!

Liz
Co-Owner

Hey there! I’m Varmint’s partner Liz, and I’m Varmintfeathers’ biggest fan and advocate. I do a good portion of the creative and design aspects of the business, product photography, and always helping out in any way I can; including packing your orders! The running joke is that I give the ‘okay’ for everything before it's done, and while admittedly that’s pretty true, I’m really just Varmint’s biggest supporter and want the best for her work. Thanks for supporting us!

DopScratch
Keychain Artist

Hey there, you can call me Dop. Aspiring paleontologist, pterosaur enthusiast, and the tortured soul behind the double-sided keychain designs! While my dedication to of a wide assortment of media as well as my own stories waxes and wanes, Mesozoic reptiles consistently capture my attentionOn the creative front, I do art, animation, and writing. If you feel like supporting me, you can beg Varmint for more keychain designs- or check out my Ko-fi to drop a donation or order a commission from me!

Fossil
Researcher

Howdy! My name is Fossil! I have been working on the research/charity side of things since day one! I am autistic, and animals of prehistory just so happen to be my special interest! I adore all extinct fauna of the world and believe research should be readily available to ALL and everyone should get the chance to enjoy these creatures! I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of that! I also believe firmly that we should do what we can to further prevent more extinction where we can, while I adore extinct species, I am also a MASSIVE advocate for protecting living wildlife while we have it. Working on these projects has been a continued honor and I cannot wait to join forces and continue on the many projects that are yet to come in the future!
